Honoring the Women of Cannabis
Posted on 01 September 2015
As keepers of the culture, women are often stigmatized for unconventional behavior. It takes guts for a public figure to take a stand on Cannabis. At AnnaBis, we salute the women who have used their celebrity positions to take a stand and support the legalization and use of this versatile plant. Therefore, we’d like to honor the Sarah’s and Susan’s in everyone’s life who have chosen to have Cannabis as a part of their lives, as well. It’s time to celebrate the witnessing of history being made in a movement to publicly defend and support the responsible use and legalization of Cannabis.
Even with 58% of the American public in favor of legalization, medical use legal in 23 states (plus Washington D.C.), and five markets recreationally legal (Colorado, Oregon, Washington state, Washington D.C. and Alaska) – we still need the brave and the free to eliminate restrictive and unfair legislation.
Here are some quotes from women we admire:
“It’s silly that having a puff of legal pot at the end of the night is news amongst a sea of scary drunk people.”
– Twitter, August 27, 2014.
“I believe in individual rights, I would like to see everybody be able to smoke pot. That’s a waste of our money to incarcerate all those people.”
